Under the direction of the Electric Utility Business Manager, this position is primarily responsible for accurately processing and maintaining the Electric Utility’s accounts including the monthly utility billing, final utility billing, and all other clerical functions in association with the position to provide for the orderly functioning of the Billing Office. This position plans and carries out daily work with independence and serves as a front-line customer service representative in the Utility Billing Office. This position requires an individual who can exercise independent judgement and is able to interact with the public with tact and courtesy. Incumbent will use a fair amount of discernment in determining when customer issues need to be escalated to the supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent, supplemented by schooling or training in bookkeeping.  At least two (2) years of customer service, bookkeeping, cashiering, and billing experience.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of utility rates and billing policies.
  • Experience working for a public employer.

Wage range based on experience:    $23.61 – $26.79  per hour

JOURNEY LEVEL POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Electric Utility Business Manager and direct direction of the Line Superintendent, is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair of the municipally owned electrical transmission and distribution system. 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training/schooling in electrical distribution or related field.  Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing in accordance with WI Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Must possess a Journeyman Lineman’s card.
  • Must have valid WI Commercial Driver’s License and proof of insurance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working for a public employer.

WAGE   $54.47 per hour
